Statistical Consulting Center Established

Center in the College of Business to provide statistical services to UTSA faculty, staff and students, as
well as researchers in the community. The center is staffed by doctoral students in the college's new Ph.D. in Applied Statistics
degree program. Faculty in the department provide additional expertise as needed.
Dr. Stephanie Cano, senior lecturer, directs the center. Cano previously managed a similar
consulting center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received her Ph.D. in biostatistics.
The Statistical Consulting Center provides assistance with experimental study design, sample size selection,
data analysis, and statistical computing for UTSA faculty and students as well as the external community.
In addition to statistical services, the center also offers non-credit short courses on data analysis using
different statistical software packages as well as regression, reliability and experimental design.
