Application Deadline for HACU Summer Internships in Washington, D.C. is Feb. 24

A record number of paid summer internships in Washington , D.C. are available to business students this year, according
to the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU). Students who wish to participate must apply by the Feb.
24, 2006 application deadline.
"Last summer business majors were in high demand,” said Lisa Anaya, assistant director of student
services at HACU headquarters. “This year we have even more requests for interns from federal agencies and leading corporations
who participate in this internship program. Business students who apply have an excellent chance of being placed.”
Selected candidates receive paid roundtrip transportation to Washington , D.C. , a weekly salary, assistance with low-cost
housing and the opportunity to attend numerous social events, receptions and briefings during the summer program.
"One application allows the student to be considered by dozens of different agencies and corporations in D.C. and
at field sites in major cities throughout the United States,” said John Jennings, assistant dean for undergraduate
professional development. "This makes the HACU program one of the easiest and most all-inclusive internships available
to UTSA students.”

Students from all ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to apply. To be eligible, candidates must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, have
completed their freshman year and be eligible to work by law in the United States .
