Undergraduate Student Featured in Active Trader Magazine

Senior accounting major Nate Thatcher was recently profiled in Active Trader magazine, a monthly
financial magazine that features strategies, analysis and news for active traders and investors. Thatcher, a full-time student
who also runs a glass blowing business, was profiled in the "Face of Trading" section which highlights active traders
who are not professionals in the industry.
Thatcher is a self taught trader that focuses on technical analysis. He follows about 150 stocks currently and typically
trades 4-5 times a week. Using his business and accounting background, he seeks out companies with above-average profit margins.
He credits faculty member Julie Dahlquist with helping him pursue his interest in trading. "She is
a special teacher," he said. "She introduced me to one of the top three technical analysts from Merrill Lynch in
New York, and I participated in a technical analysis seminar in New York City."
