This Business Studies for the Americas program offers graduate students an opportunity to learn firsthand about border issues by participating in the "Strategies for the Border Corridor" course in partnership with UT-Pan American and EGADE in Monterrey, Mexico. The course prepares a maximum of 10 students from each university to manage business on both sides of the U.S. and Mexico border. The three partner schools bring their students together for intensive study, visits to companies in their region and final group presentations.
Students get international travel experiences in a three weekend course format. Students travel on Thursday, visit companies on Friday, attend classes with local faculty on Saturday and present group project work on Sunday. As part of the class, students will visit two countries, three distinct economic regions and nine corporations. They will spend nine days in class and project work with international peers. The launch of this program was supported by a U.S. Department of Education Business in International Education grant. Students pay the cost for UTSA tuition and the grant will pay for travel and lodging.
The next class will be offered in Spring 2010. Students can sign up for the course through ASAP.
