The BBA, MBA and Masters in Finance degrees provide increasing levels of expertise in three areas of finance:
- Asset pricing/Capital Markets: the study of how security prices and interest rates are determined in the market;
- Corporate Finance: the study of how corporations raise capital and make investment decisions; and
- Real Estate Finance.
Some of the most dynamic and productive partnerships at UTSA exist between the college and its sponsors. Organizations—corporations and non-profit agencies alike—support UTSA in a myriad of ways. Sponsors build rich, individual relationships with the college based on the goals of both partners. Together, they expand the boundaries of current management knowledge and devise new and better business practices. Individuals from industry teach and are invited to give talks on specific topics. We have an active internship program in both finance and real estate. A large number of graduates receive their first introduction to industry and to the profession via these internships.
Given this training, our students are prepared to support various functions in a corporate setting, within a traditional bank or in investment houses. Our graduates have made successful transition to leading consulting firms (Pricewaterhouse, KPMG), investment related firms (Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, US Global, USAA), traditional banks (Frost Bank, Broadway Bank, Citibank, Bank of America), Corporations (KCI) as well as government/municipal agencies (NASA). Many other local and Texas-based firms employ our graduates as well.
