Yoris A. Au holds a Ph.D. in business administration with a concentration in information and decision sciences from the University of Minnesota, an MBA from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Parahyangan Catholic University in Indonesia. Prior to starting his career in academia, Professor Au spent 11 years working as an information systems and information technology (IS/IT) specialist, consultant and manager for a number of companies which included Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), as well as general manager of an Internet startup. He has managed various large-scale IS/IT projects and infrastructures.
Professor Au’s areas of research include economics of information systems and information security, technology adoption, electronic and mobile payments, telecommunications and open source software. His research has appeared in such journals as Communications of the Association for Information Systems, Electronic Commerce Research and Applications, Information & Management, Information Systems and E-Business Management and Journal of Management Information Systems, as well as monograph series such as Advances in Management Information Systems. His areas of teaching include telecommunications, computer networking and the Internet, as well as software engineering management, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He also teaches a Ph.D. seminar in economics of information systems and information technology.
Professor Au serves as an area editor of Electronic Commerce Research and Applications and is on the editorial board of Information & Management.
