The college’s new Department of Entrepreneurship and Technology Management explores the intersection of entrepreneurship and technology management. Whether you are wanting to start your own company, manage scientific projects or become a project manager, a variety of degree and program options are available to students with interests in these areas.
Within the area of entrepreneurship, the department focus is on global entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship and technology entrepreneurship. Students are taught entrepreneurship through applied and experiential activities such as the biannual $100K Student Technology Venture Competition.
The college has established two unique centers to explore entrepreneurship from both a socially-oriented perspective as well as from a technology perspective: the Center for Global Entrepreneurship and the Center for Innovation and Technology.
Students can pursue a bachelor's in business administation degree in entrepreneurship, a MBA concentration in entrepreneurship or a master's certificate in technology entrepreneurship.
The management of technology program offers professionals in scientific, engineering, mathematical or other technology-based disciplines the management skills necessary to meet the world-wide demand for managers who can bring advances in technology to the marketplace in the form of innovative products and services.
UTSA's program was established in 1993 and modeled after successful national programs. The college's program works in collaboration with the UTSA College of Engineering.
Graduate level coursework includes an MBA concentration in management of technology, an MBA concentration in project management, and a master’s of science degree in the management of technology with concentrations in leading technological change and technology entrepreneurship.
