Bruce Rudy is senior executive director of the Center for Professional Excellence and an assistant professor of management at The University of Texas at San Antonio. His research in strategy covers innovation, international business, corporate political activity and corporate social responsibility.
Prior to receiving his Ph.D. in management from the University of Texas at Austin, Bruce worked in a variety of positions in the energy industry. Beginning his career at Enron Corporation, Bruce spent six years in business development and corporate finance executing over $200 million in transactions.
After receiving his M.S. in natural resources from the University of Michigan, Bruce joined Green Mountain Energy as manager of environmental affairs. In this role, Bruce was responsible for integrating the firm’s strategic direction with evolving environmental regulations that were shaping the competitive environment.
Bruce combines his strong theoretical understanding of management with his practical business experiences to teach management strategy courses at UTSA. He is a recipient of numerous teaching awards including the prestigious Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award, given to the top teachers across the entire University of Texas System.
