Mir ImranKickstart your career as an entrepreneur at The University of Texas at San Antonio’s Center for Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship (CITE) Technology Entrepreneurship Boot Camp. The boot camp, sponsored by Jackson Walker LLP, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10 in the University Room of the Business Building (2.06.04) at the UTSA Main Campus.

Mir Imran, chairman and CEO of InCube Labs, will present the keynote address at 9:15 a.m. Imran is one of the leading inventors and entrepreneurs in the medical devices field. He holds more than 200 issued patents and is most well known for his pioneering contributions to the first FDA approved automatic implantable cardioverter defibrillator. He has founded more than 20 life science companies and recently launched InCube Labs in San Antonio.

The daylong boot camp will feature expert presentations on fundamental entrepreneurship skills including opportunity identification, business planning, intellectual property and business law, marketing and funding a technology start-up.

Registration is free for UTSA faculty, students and staff as well as faculty and students from others institutions. The boot camp is $95 for the general public. Payment can be made by cash or check the day of the event. For more information, call (210) 458-5782. Registration is online below.

CITE is an interdisciplinary center in the UTSA College of Business and the College of Engineering. The center focuses on fostering the growth of entrepreneurs and new technology-based ventures through a process of education, experiences, resources and support. The Entrepreneurship Boot Camp is co-sponsored by the UTSA Colleges of Business and Engineering, Startech and the UTSA Vice President for Research.
