The University of Texas at San Antonio's Center for Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship (CITE) will host the Jackson Walker Technology Entrepreneurship Boot Camp. This is the preeminent event for kickstarting your technology career, either as an entrepreneur on your own or an intrapreneur for a company.
The day will kickoff with a keynote by Dr. Larry J. Miller, CEO and founder of Vidacare, a successful multi-million dollar San Antonio technology venture.
Since receiving his emergency medical training at Chicago's Cook County Hospital, Dr. Miller has treated more than 120,000 emergency patients. With a 30-year career in emergency medicine, Dr. Miller has acquired in-depth knowledge of intraosseous physiology through his work directing research, human and clinical trails, and FDA device approval. This knowledge is complemented by 20 years of experience in business management from directing product development, engineering, manufacturing, and marketing as well as serving as President and CEO of three medical device companies. For 10 years, Dr. Miller held the position of Chairman of Emergency Medicine at the five Baptist Health System Hospitals in San Antonio. Currently, he is medical director for five Emergency Medical Services organizations.
The daylong boot camp will feature expert presentations on fundamental technology entrepreneurship skills including opportunity identification, business planning, IP and business law, social media PR and branding, and funding a technology start-up in San Antonio.
