The Center for Education and Research in Information and Infrastructure Security (CERI²S) conducts high impact research in information assurance and security and educates the cybersecurity workforce needed now and in the future. The center’s research objective is to offer leading edge solutions that will help to solve cybersecurity problems of national scope and importance.
As one of the leading institutions in the field of infrastructure assurance education and research, the UTSA College of Business is charged with becoming a knowledge resource in information assurance, a training ground for needed information assurance professionals and a contributor to the protection of the national information infrastructure.
One of but a few security programs anchored in a College of Business, the college offers a BBA degree in infrastructure assurance as well as various undergraduate minors in this field, a Master of Science in Information Technology degree with a concentration in infrastructure assurance and a Ph.D. in information technology.
In 2009, the National Security Agency designated UTSA as a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Research based on the research of business, computer science and engineering faculty. This designation has been awarded to only 47 institutions nationwide. UTSA has also been designated a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education since 2002 based on the curriculum in the College of Business.
