Professor of Accounting
Dr. Forgione leads the college's initiatives in the area of the business of health. A distinguished academic and pioneer in health care financial management, his research interests are in comparative international health care financing systems, cost and quality of care, as well as external audits, governance and financial distress of health care organizations. He has over 100 publications, most of which are in the area of health care business.
He is the founder and director of the International Society for Research in Healthcare Financial Management and served as the senior editor of the journal Research in Healthcare Financial Management. His consulting work has been used twice by the United States Congress in major national health care policy deliberations, as well as by the State of Texas in landmark charity care legislation.
