start. The UTSA College of Business offers two doctoral programs: one in Business Administration and one in Applied Statistics.

UTSA's Ph.D. in Business Administration includes emphases in five traditional business areas: accounting, finance,
information technology, marketing, and organization and management studies. The primary focus of the program is to prepare qualified candidates for academic careers in teaching and research, graduates are also qualified to hold government and industry positions. As reported in a recent article from Newsline,
the market for business Ph.D.'s is strong. Data suggests that there will be a robust demand for faculty in schools of business
for at least the next 15 years. These projections by business deans indicate that students who matriculate now will graduate
at a time of increased demand.
UTSA is positioned to become one of the top-tier research universities in Texas. Established in 1969 as a comprehensive metropolitan
university, UTSA has grown rapidly (to almost 30,000 students) and now offers 21 Ph.D. programs, over 46 master's and 64 undergraduate

The majority of our graduated Ph.D.’s have been placed in academia as Assistant Professors, receiving substantial offers

University of Arkansas, University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, University of Nevada, University
of Houston, Mississippi State, Cal State, typically Delaware State, Texas State, Purdue University, Auburn Uniersity and the United States Air Force Academy.
Our admission process is very competitive. The departmental committees conduct a holistic review of each applicant’s
materials taking all factors into consideration – there is no one sole criterion used for admission or denial. The average
GMAT Score of our Ph.D. students is 670 total and the average GRE Score is 1250. The average masters’ level G.P.A. for
entering students is over 3.75.
