The College of Business is sponsoring a workshop on Friday, Oct. 7 on Internship Opportunities in Washington, D.C. The
workshop will be held at 10 a.m. in the University Room of the Business Building (BB 2.06.04).
The session is aimed at creating interest among students to apply for, and participate in, internships in Washington,
D.C. Internships are available for undergraduate and graduate students in any major. The programs begin in the spring or
summer of 2006.
Hosted by David Lingelbach, associate director of the Center for Global Entrepreneurship, and John Jennings, assistant
dean for undergraduate development, the workshop will allow students to learn about the many ways internships can add to
their education--and improve their chances of career success. Guest speakers from sponsoring agencies and students who have
recently worked in Washington will share their experiences. Applications on several programs will be available for students,
and assistance in applying will be offered.
“Last summer, 15 College of Business students had the opportunity to work as Washington interns,” said Jennings. “We
hope to double that number in 2006.”
