Tesoro CEO Greg Goff to Present Frost Lecture March 5

Gregory Goff, president and CEO of Tesoro, will present the keynote address during the UTSA College of Business Frost Distinguished Lecture. The lecture begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 5 in the Richard S. Liu Auditorium (2.01.02) in the Business Building on the UTSA Main Campus. The event is free and open to the public. The Frost Distinguished Lecture Series brings prominent business and community leaders to UTSA to share their knowledge and experiences with students and others in the community.

Do Stock Markets Catch the Flu?

Chances are you or someone you know has suffered from the flu within the past few months. In fact, this winter, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported some of the highest levels of influenza in several years. But, your health may not be the only thing that suffers during a flu epidemic. In fact, stock market trading activity decreases when flu incidence is high, according to a new study by John Wald, professor of finance in the UTSA College of Business.

Personality Traits Influence Customer's Internet Banking Usage

Online banking seems as prevalent as smart phones, but studies show that Internet banking usage has not risen as strongly as expected. Researchers at the UTSA College of Business completed a recent study that examined factors influencing Internet banking use. The study, led by Myung Ko, associate professor of information systems, appeared in the Journal of Information Technology Management.

UTSA Hosts Great Conversation Fundraiser Feb. 26

"Great Conversation!," a signature fundraising event that brings together prominent community leaders, scholars and UTSA supporters for engaging dinner conversations on a diverse array of stimulating topics, will be held on Feb. 26 from 6-9 p.m. at the Institute of Texan Cultures. The fundraiser benefits UTSA Honors College student scholarships, research stipends and leadership and global learning opportunities.
