CFA Competition Winners
Finance Students Place First in Regional CFA Competition

The key to being a great financial analyst instead of just a good one might be as simple as attending the right university.  A team of finance students from the UTSA College of Business proved that theory by placing first in the CFA Institute Research Challenge, a global competition which tests financial analytical skills of business students from throughout the world. The UTSA team will advance to the regional in April in New York, where they will compete against 50 teams from North and South America.

College Seeks Support for New Leadership Suites

Since the college’s Center for Student Professional Development opened in 2007, the center has focused on transforming business students into business professionals and meeting the recruitment needs of the business community. In support of this mission, the college has embarked on a second phase of development for the center—the creation of Leadership Suites to be used to meet the professional development needs of our students as well as the recruitment needs of potential employers.

Volunteers Needed for Student Professional Development Programs

The college's Center for Student Professional Development is seeking volunteers to participate in the H-E-B Career Action Program, a professional development certificate program for business students. Volunteers are needed to conduct mock interviews, discuss business etiquette, help students prepare elevator speeches and learn about professional networking.

Register Now for Annual Accounting Golf Tournament May 11

Get into the swing of things by participating in the 20th annual Kathleen R. Keil Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament hosted by the UTSA Department of Accounting. The tournament will be held on Friday, May 11, and all proceeds benefit student scholarships. More than $30,000 was raised last year for student scholarships. Sponsorship opportunities are still available as well as foursome and individual player registration.
