Ram Tripathi Named Fellow
Professor Ram Tripathi Named Prestigious Fellow
of the American Statistical Association

Ram Tripathi, professor of statistics in the UTSA College of Business, was named a fellow of the American Statistical Association. Tripathi was selected for his fundamental research contributions in discrete distributions; novel applications and development of statistics in assessing the health effects of dioxin on Vietnam-era veterans; and for his outstanding service to the profession.

College Offers New Graduate Certificate
in Real Estate Finance and Development

The UTSA College of Business is offering a new graduate certificate program in Real Estate Finance and Development beginning this fall. The program will provide in-depth knowledge of the finance, development, accounting and legal principles in the real estate industry. The 12-hour certificate includes coursework in Foundations of Finance for Entrepreneurs, Real Estate Finance, Real Estate Investment and Real Estate Development.

Finance Faculty Member Publishes Book on Technical Analysis

Julie Dahlquist, senior lecturer in finance, has published her third book on technical analysis, Technical Analysis of Gaps. Gaps represent price jumps that could signal profitable technical trading opportunities. Using 17 years of comprehensive data, the book addresses such issues as gap size, volume, and previous price movement; and integrates their insights into practical, actionable gap-related trading strategies for stocks, futures and options.

Ten Students Study International Business in Spain

Ten UTSA business students said adiós to San Antonio and hola to Spain as part of a 11-day faculty-led international immersion sponsored by the College of Business.  The immersion was one aspect of the class, Business Success in Spain, which was led by Dennis Lopez, assistant professor of accounting, and Joel Saegert, professor of marketing. The international immersion, one of seven offered this summer by the college, gives students an introduction to the challenges of doing business internationally.
