The UTSA College of Business recognized the 100 Best business students during a reception Tuesday night attended by university administrators, alumni and business and community leaders. With over 5,000 undergraduate students in the College of Business, the 100 Best business students epitomize the top two percent of all business students in the college.

Accounting Students Complete 10,000 Hours of Service to Area Small Businesses
Accounting students at the UTSA College of Business spent the semester putting their accounting skills to practice while also serving the local small business community. Since the program’s inception in 2008, students in Dr. Gary Bridge's Accounting Practicum class have completed 10,000 hours of community service—amounting to $1 million in services provided to small business clients.

New Departments in Entrepreneurship and Cyber Security Created
The UTSA College of Business will ring in the New Year with one new academic department and a name change for an existing department. Highlighting the college’s programming in cyber security, the Department of Information Systems and Technology Management will be renamed the Department of Information Systems and Cyber Security. And, a new academic department has been created in Entrepreneurship and Technology Management.

Business Faculty Member Receives 2011 Howe Teaching Award
Dr. Robert Lengel, associate dean for the Executive MBA, received the 2011 Richard S. Howe Outstanding Service to Undergraduates Teaching Award this week during a luncheon hosted by UTSA President Ricardo Romo and Provost John Frederick. The award recognizes faculty for developing signature learning experiences for undergraduates outside the traditional classroom environment.
